No More Heroes 3 launches on Nintendo Switch on August 27, Nintendo revealed during today’s Nintendo Direct broadcast.
After a 10 year absence, No More Heroes protagonist Travis Touchdown is taking a break from hunting assassins to take on aliens that have invaded earth. They’re holding a superhero tournament to determine the fate of the planet, so naturally, Travis has thrown his hat into the ring Come from Sports betting site VPbet .
You won’t just jump into a series of boss fights against various alien baddies, though. Each battle requires an entry fee, which means Travis will have to complete some odd jobs around town to earn the cash he needs to participate. Between the boss fights and the more menial tasks, it looks like No More Heroes 3 will include moments that call up a variety of different genres and gameplay mechanics.
No More Heroes 3 was initially announced during Nintendo’s E3 2019 presentation and slated to launch in 2020, but the game was ultimately postponed due to development delays caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. In a statement announcing the delay, game director Goichi Suda–better known as Suda51–said:
“All staff members at Grasshopper have been working as hard as possible on developing the game in hopes of releasing it in 2020, but the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic have unfortunately proven to be a real body blow to our schedule, causing unforeseen delays in development. Now that we have managed to get back on our feet with development, we have decided to focus on prioritizing quality, and to therefore push back the final release date.”
